LAMINATE FLOORING · JUPITER DOWN TO HOMESTEAD
Laminate Flooring Installation in South Florida. Measured and Priced at Your House.
One of our team members comes out with laminate samples and waterproof vinyl samples in the same van. You set them on your own floor, in your own light, and you get the price in that same visit. If it works, a signing link goes to your phone.
We take projects of 400 square feet and up. That's about a living room plus a hallway.

Booked. We'll call you shortly.
Your request is in. Someone will call the number you gave us to set a time, usually within a few days and often sooner.
Two things worth having ready when we call: roughly which rooms you're doing, and what's on the floor right now. Carpet, tile, laminate, vinyl or wood. That's enough for us to route the right person and load the right samples.
If you're in a condo or a gated community, mention it on that call so we can get whoever comes out cleared at the gate ahead of the appointment.

HOW THE VISIT WORKS
We Measure and Price It At Your House, in One Visit
One appointment, one person, one number. The laminate samples come inside with them, and so do the vinyl ones.
-
Step 01
Someone from our team comes to you
You pick the time. The visit is free, nothing about it obligates you, and the samples come in from the van.
-
Step 02
The job gets measured
Room by room, on your actual floor. Doorways, closets, transitions, and the stairs if you have them.
-
Step 03
You get the price before they leave
Same visit, same person, worked out in front of you while they're standing on the slab.
-
Step 04
A signing link comes to your phone
Only if you want it. If it isn't right, nothing happens and nobody follows you around your kitchen.
WHY THE SAMPLES COME TO YOU
Laminate and vinyl look the same on a phone screen
Most people who call us asking for laminate haven't held a laminate plank next to a vinyl one. On a screen they're the same floor. In your hand they're not. Laminate is thicker, harder and stiffer. Vinyl is softer underfoot and waterproof all the way through.
So whoever comes out brings both. You set them on the floor of the room they're going into, in the light you'll actually live with, and you decide there. Plenty of people who searched for laminate leave with vinyl. Plenty keep the laminate. Either way it's your floor, picked in your house.
The visit, the measurement and the price are free. So is bringing both samples.

It Looks Like the Hardwood It Copies, and It Costs Less
A wood-fiber core, a printed wood layer on top, and a clear wear layer over that. Here's where it belongs, and where it doesn't.
THE PLANK
Harder underfoot, thicker in the hand
A dense wood-fiber board with a photograph of real wood printed on it and a hard clear layer on top. The good ones emboss the texture to follow the grain, so what you feel lines up with what you see. It's thicker than most vinyl plank and stiffer, and some people just like the way it feels under a bare foot. That's a fair reason to pick it.
Every laminate job in our published records is 10mm plank with an AC4 wear rating, which is the commercial grade, and a 2mm pad already attached to the back.
WHERE IT BELONGS
Dry rooms. Not the kitchen.
The core is wood fiber, and wood fiber swells when it stays wet. In the rooms that stay dry, laminate does well for years. In the rooms that don't, it fails at the seams first. We'll tell you that at the visit rather than sell you the floor you asked for and let you find out in year two.
If you want one floor through the whole house, wet rooms included, that's waterproof vinyl. Its stone-plastic core doesn't care about water. It's most of what we install, and it's in the van next to the laminate.

Laminate
Harder and thicker underfoot, closer to the feel of real wood.
Dry rooms only. The core is wood fiber, and wet wood fiber swells.

Waterproof Vinyl
Waterproof through the whole plank, wet rooms included.
Softer and quieter underfoot, and the floor most people leave with.

We pull out a lot of old laminate, too. Seven of our published projects are exactly that: old laminate out, new floor in. If yours is at that stage, it's a job we know well.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS
A Room in a Day. A House in Two or Three.
Laminate floats. It clicks together over the slab and never gets glued or nailed down, so what's under it matters more than the plank.
-
Tear-out
The old floor comes up. Carpet and tack strip go fast. Old laminate or vinyl comes up somewhere in between. Tile takes longer and makes dust, and we'll have priced that in.
-
Slab prep
The slab gets checked for flatness. High spots get ground down, low spots get filled with leveling compound, and the surface gets swept clean. A floating floor telegraphs every dip underneath it. That dip is the hollow spot or the click you'd hear a year later.
-
Moisture barrier
Not optional under laminate on a slab. Slabs here push moisture upward, and the wood-fiber core is the one part of the plank you never want damp. The barrier goes down over the slab before the first plank. In a condo, the acoustic underlayment your building specifies goes in at this step too.
-
Installation
Planks click together starting off the longest straight wall, cut around door jambs and cabinet toe kicks. An expansion gap gets left at every wall and covered by the baseboard or quarter round. That gap isn't optional either. A laminate floor fitted tight to the wall buckles in the middle of the room the first humid month.
-
Transitions and trim
A T-molding or a reducer at each doorway, so the floor can move on both sides of it. Then baseboard or quarter round back on and caulked top and bottom.
-
Cleanup
The old floor and the packaging from the new one leave with the crew. You can walk on it that night.

Published project examples, not every job we have completed. Percentages are rounded. Your job gets its own schedule before you sign.
A single room is usually one day. A whole house is normally two to three. Laminate runs on the fast end of that, because it clicks together and there's nothing to cure.
Two laminate jobs from our own records: 700 square feet with quarter round, one day. 500 square feet with new baseboards, one day. What adds days is what's around the floor, not the floor: a stair run, tile tear-out, leveling, a lot of baseboard to pull and reset.
You'll know which one your job is before you sign, not on the morning of day three.

We had a wonderful experience with Ozzifloors! We purchased our luxury vinyl tile through them as well, and both the product and installation were priced very fairly. They were able to schedule us the same week, arrived on time, and worked efficiently to complete three bedrooms in just three days. The team was professional, kept the work area clean throughout the project, and did a great job cleaning up afterward. Our new floors look beautiful, and we would definitely recommend them!
I have to say I am so so in love with my floors. The team was excellent and they did such amazing work. I could not have asked for a better team to work on my home. I was so pleased. Everyone was super respectful, kind, hardworking and very professional. They didn't have my initial color but they made the effort to help me pick another and to be honest I just know for a fact that this was the perfect color for me. It is amazing and the work they did was just exceptional. I am so glad that I chose this company to do my floors and I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you to each and every team member who made it possible for my home to look the way it does 🙏🏽🙏🏽
QUESTIONS WE GET ABOUT LAMINATE
The Ones People Actually Ask
Is laminate waterproof?
No. Water-resistant lines will shrug off a spill you wipe up, and that covers real life in a bedroom or a living room. But the core is wood fiber. Water that sits on a seam gets in, the plank swells, and it doesn't swell back. For a kitchen, a bathroom, a laundry room or the room the pool door opens into, we'll point you to waterproof vinyl, and we'll have it in the van.
Does laminate need a moisture barrier over a concrete slab?
Yes, every time. Almost every home from Jupiter to Homestead is slab-on-grade, and the slab pushes moisture upward. The wood-fiber core is the one part of a laminate plank you never want damp. A barrier goes down over the slab before the first plank, and it's in your price, not an extra.
Will it sound hollow when I walk on it?
It shouldn't, and when it does the plank is rarely the reason. Hollow sound comes from a dip in the slab the floor is bridging, or a pad that's too thin. We flatten the slab first and put the right underlayment down. Laminate is a harder floor than vinyl, so you get a firmer, more wood-like footstep. Firm is not hollow.
Can laminate go over my existing tile?
Often, if the tile is flat, stuck down tight, and the extra height works at the front door, the sliders and the dishwasher. The tile takes a skin coat of leveling compound first to fill the grout lines, then the barrier, then the floor. Loose tile, wide grout lines or a height problem at a doorway means it comes out. Our estimator works that out standing on it, which is why nobody can answer this on the phone.
I'm in a condo. Does that change anything?
Usually, yes. Laminate is a hard floating floor and it carries footstep sound to the unit below, so nearly every building above the ground floor requires a sound-rated acoustic underlayment with a minimum IIC or STC number, and many want the product spec approved before install day. Working hours and the service elevator can stretch a job across more days than the same one would take in a house. Bring your building's flooring document to the visit and we'll quote to it.
How long does laminate installation take?
A single room is usually one day. A whole house is normally two to three. On average, about a quarter of our jobs finish in a single day, roughly a third take two days and roughly a third take three. Laminate clicks together with nothing to cure, so it runs on the fast end. Stairs, tile tear-out, leveling and a lot of baseboard add time.
How much does laminate cost installed?
You get your exact number at the in-home visit, worked out in front of you before the person who came out leaves. It covers the material, taking up whatever is down now, prepping the slab, the moisture barrier and underlayment, the labor, the transitions and trim, and hauling the debris away. What moves it up or down is what's coming out, how much leveling the slab needs, stairs and how many steps, how much baseboard comes off and goes back on, and which plank you pick. The visit and the price are free, and nothing about them obligates you.
